Some frequently asked questions regarding our services - if you need more information than is provided here please get in touch.

What do I need to bring with me when I come to collect my van?

You will need to bring your valid driving license, and an insurance cover note. Unfortunately we cannot arrange insurance for you, so you need to make sure you arrange this before picking up the van.

What licenses do I need to hold to rent a van?

You will need a full drivers license for a regular van. For vans over 7.5 tonnes you will need an upgraded license and operators license - if you have any questions about this or confusion over whether you have the right license for the van you want to rent, please call us.

Can I extend my rental once I collect my vehicle?

Yes, just phone us and we can extend your rental period for you.

What temperatures do your freezer vans sustain?

Our freezer vans will sustain -18C when empty, although this very much depends on the number of door openings. If you require a low temperature consistently, it is wise to limit the amount of times you open the doors.

What temperature do your chiller vans sustain?

0C, again - subject to the amount of times the doors are opened and closed.

What do I do if my rental van breaks down?

Call us first, and we will make arrangements to have the van picked up or fixed, and a replacement organised if this is deemed neccessary.

What happens if I get a tyre puncture in my van?

You are welcome to change the tyre yourself, there is a spare with all our vehicles.

Can I hire a van from you with an automatic gearbox?

Sorry, all our vans are manual gearbox.

Can I rent a van by the hour?

I'm afraid all our vans are rented by the day. We can of course discuss when you would like to pick up the van from us and drop it off, however, so feel free to give us a call if you have particular requirements.

What happens if I am caught speeding in a hired van?

Upon being contacted by the authorities, we will pass your details on to them. You will be issued a speeding ticket through the post in the normal way, from the authorities.

Can I take a rented van out of the country?

This is fine, although you need to discuss it with us first and get permission for taking the van out of the UK. You also need to be sure that your insurance covers you driving out of the country.
